The Dual Wiegand Interface is a module which allows Wiegand technology readers to be connected to a ChallengerPlus or Network Access Controller system.
This module also provides inputs and outputs to be used for door functions such as, connecting door sensors, warning devices and controlling locks. The interface is connected by an RS-485 LAN allowing it to operate either close to the control equipment, or out in the field where it is needed, and provides a tamper input which can be connected to an enclosure tamper switch.
The Dual Wiegand Interface provides two dedicated relays to control door locks, door open too long (DOTL) sounders or any other type of output. It can be powered or non-powered, and has inputs which can be used for door sensors, request-to-exit (RTE) inputs, or any other type of input.
On-board LEDs indicate the device is operating correctly, plus the status of communications between the Dual Wiegand Interace and the connected control panel.
